Cancellation Policy for Pre-Sea Courses for 2026-2027 Admission

1. For B.Tech Marine Engineering, B.Sc Nautical Science & B.Tech Lateral

Withdrawal Period

2. Courses with Pre-Course Sponsorship through HIMT for GME / DNS / ETO

Full Refund:
You are eligible for a full refund of the initial amount paid if you do not pass the Sponsorship Assessment or Interview.

Forfeiture of Initial Amount:
The initial amount paid will be forfeited if:

  • You withdraw after your details have been sent to the Sponsoring Company,
  • You withdraw after being shortlisted in the Assessment or Interview.

Note: 

  • Application Fee is non-refundable. 
  • Refund requests must be submitted via email to [email protected]
  • Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 30 days of receiving the cancellation email.
  • Once selected by a Company, any withdrawal, discontinuation, or failure to join/continue the course for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to non-fulfilment of academic requirements, medical unfitness, documentation issues, personal reasons, failure to meet Company or regulatory requirements, or any other reason, shall result in forfeiture of the entire amount paid towards the course fees, whether paid as Token Amount, advance, part payment, installment, or full fees. No refund, adjustment, transfer, or carry forward of any amount paid towards the course shall be applicable or entertained under any circumstances.

3. For GME(Non-Sponsored), ETO, OCCP

4. For GP Rating Course - July 2026 Intake

Note :

  • Application Fee is non-refundable.
  • Any refund requests must be submitted via email to [email protected]
  • The refunds, as applicable based on the above policy, will be processed within 30 days of receiving the cancellation email
  • The refund policy also applies to candidates whose enrollment is canceled due to failure to clear the IMUCET (applicable only for B.Sc. Nautical Science, B. Tech Marine Engineering, and DNS) or failure to clear D. G. Shipping Approved Medicals, or due to failure of completion of Admission Formalities for any reason
  • In respect of refund policy, the decision of HIMT College is final and binding

Admissions Assessment & Selection Policy

At HIMT College, we are committed to maintaining a fair, structured, and industry-aligned selection process for all candidates.

  1. Selection Process

Admission and shortlisting at HIMT are based on a composite evaluation, which may include:

  • Performance in the HIMT Written Examination
  • Academic background
  • Overall candidate profile and suitability for maritime training
  • Sponsoring company requirements, where applicable

All applications are reviewed by a Selection Panel, and the decision of the panel shall be final and binding.

Please note that the final decision regarding the deadline and selection rests solely with HIMT. HIMT also reserves the right to call for a re-interview of candidates at any stage.

  1. Nature of Written Examination

The HIMT Written Examination is conducted as a screening tool for shortlisting candidates.

  • Qualification in the written examination does not guarantee admission or sponsorship
  • HIMT reserves the right to limit the number of shortlisted candidates based on intake capacity and programme requirements.
  1. Confidentiality of Evaluation

To ensure fairness, standardisation, and integrity of the selection process:

The following are treated as strictly confidential and will not be disclosed:

  • Individual scores or marks
  • Cut-off marks
  • Evaluation methodology, weightages, or criteria
  • Answer keys and question banks
  1. Fees & Refund Policy

The application/examination fee is charged towards:

  • Conduct of the assessment process
  • Administrative and processing costs

All fees are strictly non-refundable, irrespective of:

  • Selection outcome
  • Candidate performance
  • Withdrawal or dissatisfaction with the process
  1. Candidate Acknowledgement

By submitting an application and paying the applicable fees, candidates acknowledge and agree that:

  • The selection process is competitive and selective
  • HIMT does not guarantee admission, sponsorship, or placement
  • All decisions are made in accordance with institutional policies and are final
  1. Grievance & Communication

Candidates may contact the Admissions Team for process-related queries.

However, requests for:

  • Disclosure of marks or scores
  • Cut-off details
  • Internal evaluation criteria

will not be entertained.

HIMT reserves the right to close repetitive or non-meritorious queries.

  1. Institutional Rights

HIMT College reserves the right to:

  • Modify the selection process, criteria, or intake capacity at any stage
  • Apply additional screening measures where required
  • Make decisions in accordance with institutional policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry requirements
  1. Legal Position

The admission and assessment process at HIMT is conducted in line with applicable regulatory and institutional standards.

Non-disclosure of internal evaluation parameters is a standard practice to ensure fairness and integrity, and does not constitute an unfair practice.

  1. Acceptance of Terms

Submission of application and payment of fees shall be deemed as full acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
